Sofea went for her 1st 6-in-1 jab + growth assessment at Medina's last Saturday.
Turned out she's a very tall baby. Her height falls under the 90th percentile, making her taller than 90% of other babies the same age. Her weight too has increased from 25th percentile at 1 month to 50th percentile. Now she weighs 5.62kg. Tho' doctor would prefer she puts on a little more weight as she might lose the baby fats once she starts crawling. I'm not that bothered really coz I'd rather she be a bit slim than fat coz well, fat is in the family genetics! But the best news is that she's a v strong baby! She's got strong bones & muscles and as the doctor put it, it's bcoz she's breastfed. Of course I had to rub in this piece of good news into mom's face.. hehe. Doc also said to moi 'well done mommy!' :D
But of course the downside to breastfeeding is that the baby is literally stuck to u all day long and refuse to sleep in the cot. Oh well not that I mind..
Doctor prescribed some fever medicine coz it's pretty common for babies to be down with fever after a jab. It's been 2 days since and fortunately it hasn't developed into a full blown fever. She feels slightly warm and super cranky. But we still gave her the meds and applied KoolAid on her forehead as a preventive measure. Hope she's back to being cheery and smily soon
