Sofea is exactly 3 months today and is such a pretty, happy, curious and smart little kid. I can't thank Allah enough for her.
Everyone, meet M.a.y.a S.o.f.e.a
.. was born on the Tuesday, 5th October 2010 at approximately 1.30pm after 12 hours in labour. Our planned natural birth didn't materialise and I ended up in a c-sect coz little Sofea didn't descend.
The day prior to Birth Day, we went for our 38th week check-up at the gynae's. It was then discovered that my butt bone was obstructing the birth canal thus making it smaller. At gynae's suggestion we agreed upon an induced labour that very night as Sofea was not yet a big baby (est at 3.2kg) so chances are she can still be delivered vaginally. Of course, gynae also did pre-empt us that there's a chance it would lead to c-sect should her head get stuck down there.
At 11pm on Monday 4th October 2010. after what seemed like a mad day because Wan was running back and forth as his mom was admitted in another hospital for high blood pressure, we packed our bags and drove to Thomson Medical Centre. It was an emotional day for me. Don't know why I kept tearing. But before i went i managed to ask for forgiveness from certain ppl and did my sholat in case i or baby don't make it.
12am - reach hosp and admin and paper work done
1am - change into hosp gown. Normal blood pressure test and ctg was done
1.30am - pill was inserted. Started to feel pressure down there
3.30am - transferred to Ward. Said goodbye to Wan
4 - 7am - the pain intensified. Can't lie down, can't sit. Nurse din want to gif painkillers. Contractions were 3 mins apart
7.30am - breakfast then brought down to labour suite
8am - gynae came and burst waterbag. Bloody hell! Extremely painful i had to scream!
8.30am - Wan came. Pain further intensifies still waiting for anesthesist
9am - anesthesist came and inserted epi.
9-12 noon - only the right side of body went numb. Left side was hurting like hell. Aensthetist came a few times to re-adjust the epi position. Still not numbed.
1pm - The pain got worse, I was only 6 cm dialated and baby not fully engaged. We raised the white flag
1.20pm - went into the OT.
1.32pm - Sofea was born.
I went thru GA so only Wan got to meet Sofea for the very 1st time. Lucky he was smart to take pics and video. By 3pm I was finally conscious and wheeled back to my ward. Mom and wan were already there. Baby still not yet ready as the nurse was cleaning her. Finally met her but everyone got excited and passed the baby around except to me :( But i was super groggy then. I couldn't even cradle her properly. Anyway.. OMG she's my carbon copy! :)
Anyway Alhamdullilah that she was born safely into this world with no disabilities whatsoever. And thank God THE 9 months were over coz if i had to be pregnant anymore i would take the baby out myself.
Will continue in the next post the 1st week we brought her home and the day i broke down and cried
