Happy 6 Months!

Our munchkin has just turned 6 months. Where did all the time go? Felt like I just gave birth to her yesterday.

It's been the most challenging yet sweetest 6 months of my life. My life has totally changed. My priorities have changed. I'm no longer just an individual. Gone are the days that i can just go abt my daily life freely, making plans for myself.. now everything revolves around Sofea and Wan. A family.. MY own family. Im so glad Allah gave me the opportunity to have my own family and may he bless us with lots of love, peace and rezeki.

Me and my happy pretty princess :)

Anyway our lil munchkin is such a curious, cute and smart little being. At 6 months, she can recognise herself in the mirror and squeel in delight *read: vainpot* At 6 she can babble in her cute baby language. At 6 months, while she can't crawl yet, she can get from one point to another very fast by rolling around and turning 360 degrees. At 6 months, she can tell dat when i have my scarf on, means i'm leaving the house and i better as hell pick her up from wherever she may be FAST or else, missy will bawl her heart out, fearing i might leave her behind. And at 6 months, Alhamdulilah she is still breastfed. Thank you Allah for the rezeki you bestowed upon her. And Thank you Allah for giving me the opportunity to watch her grow and be with her. Only downside was i didn't achieve my target to exclusively breastfeed for 6 months. Reason being, ard 5 1/2 months, Sofea started being very active and cried for milk every 1.5 hrs. I was exhausted and decided its time to start her on solids.

In her new high chair!

Her 1st food were bananas. I mashed some pisang emas for her but stupid me, almost choked her coz i didn't mash well. So i blended into a puree. That worked until i discovered, she became hyper coz the bananas were tad too sweet.

1st taste of bananas!

Soon, my order of Happy Bellies Brown Rice cereal came in the mail and i've been feeding her that till today, more for breakfast. Other menus include carrots puree, sweet potatoes puree and pumpkin purees. Finally about 4 days ago (MOn, 11th April) i started her on porridge. I grinded a handful of organic brown rice into powder and added it to the chicken and beef broth which i made from scratch. No salt in the broth. Just garlic, onions and carrots for that extra flavour. I swear Sofea likes it a lot! Coz she would open her mouth big2 everytime i feed her the chicken porridge. So its 1tbsp rice + a small container of broth, dump everything in the slow cooker and cook for 2-3 hrs. Easy Peasy!

Today, i decided to change the menu. Pureed some carrots and potatoes. The creamy puree with a tinge of sweetness was a hit with the baby!

Recently i upped her meals to 3x a day. I think i enjoy those days better when she's on 100% breastmilk. Well, can't be helped, our lil missy is growing. 2 days ago she was extra grumpy and crying all day and i was at a lost. Decided to feed her an extra meal which suddenly quietend her up. So i guess she was hungry!
